Strand NGS 2.1 Release

We are excited to announce the release of Strand NGS v2.1. The new version comes with four major features and several enhancements. A brief description is given below. Please see the release notes for full details.

An intuitive and effective way to filter out 'poor' SNPs

Using a variety of SNP attributes, researchers can now create and customize SNP filters in the new SNP Filter Manager. These filters can then be readily used in the SNP detection workflow to filter out potentially false positive variants.

A new way to detect copy number variations in targeted sequencing data

Users now have the option to create a reference coverage profile using multiple samples. The profile stores the basic coverage statistics for each target region of interest. Individual samples can be compared against the stored reference profile to identify copy number variations. This feature is useful in detecting events such as exon deletion / duplication, partial or whole gene deletions.

An enhanced multi-omics analysis feature that can integrate data from Strand NGS and GeneSpring®

The previous version, Strand NGS 2.0, enabled users to overlay data from two separate experiments on all supported pathways through the Multi-Omics Analysis (MOA) workflow. Strand NGS 2.1 will further enable users to export the NGS experiments from Strand NGS 2.1 to GeneSpring® 13. This will help users integrate their sequencing data, along with microarray and mass spectrometry data (proteomics and metabolomics) using canonical pathways and/or networks.

Ability to take complete / incremental back-up

Strand NGS now provides an option to take a backup of the complete repository containing all the projects, experiments, and the annotations. The backed-up data can be restored if required.

All these features are available to you once you update the product to v2.1. To update click on Update Product from the Help menu.
